Trilobite Glassworks is the name of glass artist Jane Hartman’s Etsy shop. She sells a wide range of biology-themed items, from stained glass panels shaped like prehistoric lifeforms (trilobites, among others) to fused glass plates decorated with all kind of infections. It’s those last that I have chosen to feature today, but if you’re a biologist, or otherwise interested in all things biology, the whole of her shop is worth a look…
Her so-called “critter dishes” feature unpleasant organisms such as the Dengue fever and HIV virus, Staphylococcus Aureus, and Trypanosoma… which all turn out to be surprisingly attractive on a microscopic scale. A key- or soap dish, anyone?
