The new academic year has begun, and I am still alive; that is about as far as my achievements of the past year go. However, a new year has begun and new opportunities are at my disposal. I don’t want to be a total failure anymore, so I’ve decided to get myself together. Therefor, a couple challenges.
Challenge #1: I will go to all classes. ALL OF THEM. And I won’t skip because “I don’t feel like it”, “I am tired”, “I feel confused”, “The voices are loud”, “I don’t want to face the world now” or any other excuse that I have employed in the past year. The only excuse allowed is being so sick that I can’t leave my bed without barfing or fainting.
Challenge #2: I will not postpone writing papers until a couple days before the deadline. This is important. I need to have my first drafts finished AT LEAST five days before the due date, so I have time to correct spelling, and do an emergency rewrite if necessary.
Challenge #3: I will not lie about my results, not even if they’re bad, and certainly not if they’re my own stupid fault. From this day forward, I will stop being a coward and look my doom in the face like the adult woman I am. No more deluding myself and no more lying about grades, I’m not in primary school anymore and it’s time I start acting like it.
I will keep you updated on my progress with weekly reports. And I hope, I truly hope and wish that you will scold me if I start treading the wrong path again. I’ll need it.
Other things you might find newsworthy; I have been diagnosed with (what most likely is) a fibroadenoma in my right breast; the thing has a diameter of 3 cm and I’m up for a biopsy this Thursday to confirm that it is in fact a fibroadenoma. Then I’ll get a second opinion from the radiologist who does the biopsy, to hear if they have to remove it yes or no. No worries though, it’s benign and even if they remove it my boob won’t become ugly. I suppose No.7 will be happy to hear that last bit especially… xD
And now the good news; I almost have everything I need to assemble the helmet of my cosplay project. All that is still missing is the enamel spray paint and gloss, and then I can begin crafting! I’m looking forward to it… I’m also thinking about taking up sewing as a hobby, so I can make the fabric costume parts myself as well. Oh yes, and I’m currently working on a Comprehensive Guide to Black Speech, with a thematic vocabulary list. In case anyone is interested?
