Whimsical Machinery: Laikingland

Art… Although today it often seems all about merging the useful with the beautiful, there are still a few artists and designers that make objects that have no use at all except for being awesome. Laikingland is a brand like that. Working together with designers like Martin Smith and John Lumbus they create quirky kinetic sculptures, little funny machines with no “useful” use at all. Storm in a  Teacup, Applause machines, a Heart Machine and even a mechanical tapping hand… Enjoy…

About quantumphysica

My name is QuantumPhysica The Insane, but you can call me QP. I am insane, admitted to a mental hospital in Belgium, and waiting for a decent diagnosis at the moment. Once I was a physics student with goals in life and what more; now I'm simply the patient of Room 93. Ever wondered what life is like in the psychiatric ward? I'll tell you everything you ever wanted to know... I am... particularly twitchy of personality. But I also am genuinely interested in everything. There is nothing that doesn't interest me, really. Everything, from quantum computers to fashion and cars to traveling... I also give advice. On anything. No taboos whatsoever. And I make lists of things...

I got nominated for the Beautiful Blogger Award from Stoning Demons for my post “Lost in a Hat.” I know you already have a zillion awards, which you deserve, but I’m supposed to nominate someone, too, and I thought of you. Because I am lazy, terrible at computers, and feeling too blah, I didn’t finish everything yet, so if you want to accept the nomination, go to Stoning Demons’s site and see what you are supposed to do. I’ll let her know if you want it or not. Thank you.

Lokk in her left-hand column towards the bottom.

  3. Can’t find an email for you, but thought you would appreciate this photo I just saw. If you don’t know her work, you would adore it.

    Feel well,
    D
